New Delhi, Oct. 16 -- The Centre has increased the special additional excise duty on petrol exports fivefold to Rs 2.50 per litre while reducing the levy on diesel exports by nearly 47 per cent to Rs 8.50 per litre, according to a Finance Ministry notification.

The revised rates, notified by the Department of Revenue, mark the second adjustment to petroleum export duties this month amid fluctuations in international crude oil and petroleum product prices.
