Dimapur, July 28 -- The Government of India has handed over the July 13 blast case in Chumoukedima district to the NIA.
"The Government of Nagaland has been informed that the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, vide its communication dated July 27, 2026, has entrusted the investigation of the explosion case registered at Chumoukedima Police Station concerning the incident that occurred at Khopanala, Chomoukedima Village, on 13 July 2026, to the National Investigation Agency (NIA)," Nagaland police PHQ said in a press release today.
According to the central government, it formed the opinion that a scheduled offence, under the National Investigation Agency Act, 2008, has been committed in the case.
