Hyderabad, Feb. 10 -- Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao on Tuesday accused the Centre of financial discrimination against Telangana and other southern states, terming the reduction in fund allocation as an attack on the federal structure with political motives.
Addressing the media, the minister said the Centre often claims credit for development spending, but the funds being distributed actually belong to the people of Telangana. He pointed out that Telangana contributes Rs 1,33,208 crore in taxes to the Centre, while only about Rs 51,000 crore is returned to the state, including centrally sponsored schemes.
