Hyderabad, Sept. 18 -- Telangana Rakshana Sena president K Kavitha on Friday alleged that the Centre was attempting to underreport the Backward Classes (BC) population by failing to ensure proper caste-wise enumeration in the upcoming census.
Speaking at a round-table meeting on "Politics Beyond Caste" at a private hotel in Banjara Hills, organised by the United Forum for SC/ST Employees and Sakala Jana Seva Samsthan, she demanded accurate enumeration of state-specific castes and their sub-castes to prevent undercounting of the BC population.
Kavitha said caste discrimination remained deeply rooted in society and called for multi-dimensional measures, including economic and political empowerment of all communities.
