New Delhi, Sept. 9 -- In a significant development for Delhi government, the Centre has approved the proposal to separate 3,214 sanctioned engineering posts in national capital's Public Works Department (PWD) from the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) cadre, and operate them as an independent Delhi PWD Engineering Cadre.
This is the same decision that the Delhi government had taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, and regarding this development, Gupta said the decision marks a historic step towards making Delhi a developed, safe and world-class capital.
