New Delhi, Aug. 1 -- union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah has approved the advance release of Rs 2,117.85 crore from the Central share of the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) to seven flood-affected states to support relief, rescue and rehabilitation efforts during the ongoing southwest monsoon of 2026.

The Ministry of Home Affairs said the decision reflects the Centre's commitment to provide timely financial and logistical assistance to states facing flood-related disasters.

According to the ministry, the Government of India has been closely monitoring the flood situation since the onset of the monsoon in coordination with the affected state governments. The Centre has also extended assistance through the pre-depl...
