Bhubaneswar, July 22 -- The Centre has allocated Rs 1,718 crore to Odisha under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) for the financial year 2026-27 and has released the first installment of Rs 644.25 crore as the Central share, the Rajya Sabha was informed on Tuesday.

Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai, in a written reply to a question by BJD Rajya Sabha MP Manas Ranjan Mangaraj, said the total SDRF allocation for Odisha comprises Rs 1,288.50 crore as the Central share and Rs 429.50 crore as the State share.

The Minister further informed that the Odisha government has reported an opening balance of Rs 8,219.04 crore in its SDRF account as on April 1, 2026, providing the state with a substantial corpus for disaster prepare...
