Kolkata, July 2 -- A key meeting between the union Ministry of Home Affairs and senior officials of the West Bengal government is scheduled to take place in New Delhi on July 7 where chief minister Suvendu Adhiakri along with chief secretary, home secretary and other senior officials are likely to be present.
The meeting assumes significance as it is expected to focus on key issues such as infiltration and demographic changes in the state, ahead of a visit by a high-level central committee set to tour West Bengal as part of a broader assessment of demographic shifts across states.
West Bengal is among the states included in the first phase of the committee's visit.
