Chennai, Oct. 25 -- Based on a request from the Tamil Nadu government urgingthe Centre to procure paddy with 22 per cent moisture content relaxing it from theearlier 17 per cent in view of heavy rains, the three expert teams deputed by theCentre, today began its three-day assessment of the paddy quality in rain-hitdistricts, including in the Cauvery delta region.
Officials said while two teams were headed by the Food Department Deputy Director,the other team was led by the Assistant Director.
