Agartala, May 22 -- A team from the central government is likely to visit Tripura soon to carry out an inspection of the Indo-Bangladesh border and evaluate the current state of the barbed-wire fencing, a top official in the state administration said here on Friday.
This initiative is part of efforts to enhance and modernise the security infrastructure along the border. The matter was discussed during the recent 22nd plenary session of NEC, and the Centre is now considering a comprehensive site evaluation.
The border between Tripura and Bangladesh spans 856 kilometres.
