Shillong, June 21 -- union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today affirmed that support from the central government would continue until every state has the basic foundation for growth, even as she dismissed suggestions that the Centre's special funding for states amounted to "pampering".

Addressing a news conference after the valedictory session of a two-day seminar on 'Leveraging Externally Aided Projects in the North East', Ms Sitharaman was asked how long the Centre would keep providing liberal capital assistance.
