Mumbai, April 24 -- The Central Railway has announced the operation of 248 additional summer special trains between Mumbai, Pune and Gorakhpur to manage the anticipated surge in passenger traffic during the peak travel season. These trains will run on special fares and are intended to provide relief to long-distance travellers.

Under the plan, daily summer special services will be operated between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Gorakhpur, accounting for a total of 124 services. Train number 01079 will depart from Mumbai at 22:30 hrs daily from May 15, 2026 to July 15, 2026, reaching Gorakhpur at 10:00 hrs on the third day, completing 62 services.
