Mumbai, Oct. 27 -- Central Railway's suburban services were gradually returning to normal on Tuesday following signalling failures at two locations on the Main Line on Monday, which disrupted train operations and caused severe inconvenience to commuters.
The disruption was reported at 1055 hrs on Monday, October 26, at two stretches between Thane and Mulund, and Kanjurmarg and Bhandup, according to railway officials.
The signalling glitches affected both Up and Down Fast and Slow lines, forcing trains to operate at restricted speeds as a safety measure. The resulting delays affected services throughout the day, with several trains running 30 to 45 minutes behind schedule and some experiencing delays exceeding an hour.
