Kolkata, March 9 -- : Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar on Monday issued a stern warning to officials of the West Bengal administration and police, making it clear that the Election Commission will not hesitate to take action against any lapses and that its oversight will continue even after the elections are over.

The remarks were made during a meeting of the full bench of the Election Commission of India with senior administrative and security officials in Kolkata.

According to sources, representatives from nearly two dozen state and central agencies attended the meeting, where several officials were sharply reprimanded over alleged negligence in carrying out election-related responsibilities.
