Hyderabad, Nov. 10 -- A five-day EMBO India lecture course titled "Structure, Function and Quality Control of Proteins in Cell Organelles" began at the CSIR-Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) here on Monday.

The programme brings together national and international experts to interact with around 200 advanced biology students from across the country.

The course focuses on how cells maintain the correct structure and function of proteins as they move across different cellular organelles. Misfolded proteins are known to be linked to several disorders, including cancer, neurodegenerative diseases and rare genetic conditions, making this a crucial area of research.
