New Delhi, Aug. 19 -- The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has revised its commitment regulations, giving companies more time to submit applications aimed at resolving antitrust concerns without undergoing prolonged litigation.
Under the revised framework, the deadline for filing a commitment application has been increased to 60 days from the earlier 45 days.
The CCI has also extended the time available for preliminary scrutiny of applications to 15 working days from seven. The overall process timeline has been raised to 180 days from 130 days.
The commitment and settlement framework was introduced through the Competition (Amendment) Act, 2023, which added Sections 48A and 48B to the Competition Act.
