New Delhi, June 3 -- The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs on Wednesday approved the construction of a new coastal highway connecting Rameshwar and Paradip in Odisha at a total capital cost of Rs 8,300.79 crore, a project aimed at enhancing connectivity, boosting logistics efficiency and accelerating economic development along the state's coastline.
Announcing the decision after the Cabinet meeting, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the project would be implemented under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) and would cover a total length of about 160.18 kilometres in two packages.
