Bengaluru, June 28 -- The Central Crime Branch (CCB) has foiled a gangland revenge plot with the arrest of seven persons who allegedly conspired to murder Karnataka Youth Congress leader Abbas, police said on Sunday.

According to investigators, the conspiracy was hatched to avenge the murder of notorious rowdy-sheeter Hyder Ali. Police said the prime accused, Shabbir Ali, brother of the slain gangster, allegedly recruited a gang led by Sajid to execute the killing after suspecting Abbas of having links to Hyder Ali's murder.
