Patna, June 17 -- Students enrolled in Bihar's Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS), run by the state's Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Welfare Department, will now study under the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) curriculum from Classes 6 to 12 following approval from the Central Government.

State SC-ST Welfare Minister Lakhendra Paswan said here that at present, three Eklavya Model Residential Schools are operational in Bihar at Belasari in West Champaran, Astha in Jamui and Adhaura in Kaimur district. Each school has around 600 students, taking the total number of tribal students benefiting from the scheme to nearly 1,800. These institutions are located in areas with a significant tribal population.
