New Delhi, June 10 -- A special CBI court on Wednesday remanded a Delhi Police Crime Branch Inspector and his aide to one day of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) custody in connection with an alleged bribery and influence-peddling case linked to the investigation of a Rs 5,000-crore counterfeit medicine racket in Puducherry.
According to sources, Inspector Pradeep Kumar Singh allegedly accepted a Rs 1 crore bribe from the prime accused in the case in exchange for securing favourable relief in CBI investigations.
The agency is probing the alleged money trail, the involvement of other individuals, and claims that influence was sought to affect the outcome of ongoing cases.
