Chennai, Aug. 20 -- The CBI Court, Chennai has convicted and sentenced the six accused, including former Deputy General Manager (DGM) of Bank of India (BOI) to ten years rigorous imprisonment in connection with the Rs 2.39 crore bank fraud case of 2010.
Among the convicted included four public servants--N. Venkatachalam, then DGM, BOI, M.Sivakumar,Record Clerk, Sholinganallur Taluk office,T.Dasarathan,VAO,Pzhavanthangal M. Manichavelu, VAO, Govt. of Tamil Nadu--and two private persons, Ms.O.P. Thamarai Poo, and P. Thandapani.
The Court also imposed a total fine of Rs 2.70 crore on them.
