New Delhi, Oct. 11 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday filed a chargesheet against Dr. Ajay Kumar, Additional Director of the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) in Meerut; Lavesh Solanki, Office Superintendent at CGHS Meerut; and Raees Ahmad, a private person, in a bribery case.
They are accused of demanding a bribe of Rs. 50 lakh from the owner of a private hospital to prevent the de-empanelment of their hospitals from the CGHS list.
The CBI registered the case based on a complaint from a Meerut-based private medical group that runs several hospitals under different names.
