Chandigarh, May 15 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has exposed a bribery racket involving intermediaries allegedly posing as close aides of senior Punjab Vigilance officials, with a formal FIR revealing that a complainant was asked to pay Rs 13 lakh and a mobile phone to settle a pending vigilance complaint, officials said.
According to the FIR, accused Raghav Goyal and his father Vikas Goyal, also known as Vicky Goyal, allegedly projected themselves as close associates of Punjab Vigilance Director General Sharad Satya Chauhan and his reader OP Rana to influence investigations and facilitate deals in ongoing cases.
