Srinagar, Jan. 30 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation arrested a revenue department official in Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000, the agency said on Friday.

The accused was identified as Faheem Majeed, a patwari posted at Mouza Gadoora, Ganderbal.

According to a CBI, a case was registered against the accused on January 28 following a complaint filed by a resident of Anchar Soura in Srinagar.

It was alleged that the patwari had demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 for issuing an extract of Jamabandi and for rectification of revenue records related to 15 marlas of land falling under old survey number 488 and new survey number 139 in Gadoora.
