Chennai, June 6 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a proclaimed offender who has been absconding for the past more than 15 years, in connection with a Rs 2.01 crore 2010 bank fraud case.
The arrested person was identified as P.Arokiasamy, who was produced before the court on Saturday and remanded in judicial custody till June 19.
CBI said it registered the case on January 21, 2010 based on a complaint that the Directors of M/s. Sun Bio Manure Pvt. Ltd., Chennai fraudulently availed loan of Rs.201.63 lakh from Indian Bank, Veerapandi Branch in Salem district of Tamil Nadu for Vermi culture and Dairy Farming activities by mortgaging the property.
