New Delhi, Feb. 10 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday said it has arrested an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the Delhi Police for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 from a man for favouring his brother to secure bail.
The accused had allegedly threatened to implicate the complainant's brother in other cases if the bribe amount was not paid.
The CBI registered the case on February 7 against the accused ASI, identified as Om Prakash posted at PS Paschim Vihar, Delhi,According to the agency, the accused had initially demanded a bribe of Rs 25,000 from the complainant for extending favour in the bail matter and issued threats of false implication in additional cases in case of non-payment.
