New Delhi, July 6 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday said that they have arrested an absconding accused, Ramnarayan alias Hyder in connection with a 2002 case relating to dacoity with murder and theft of an ancient idol from the protected Garhwa Fort, an Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) site, in Prayagraj UP.
He was arrested from Village Naseerpur, Police Station Khakheru, District Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh following a tip off.
The CBI registered the case on September 9, 2003 after it was transferred from Police Station Shankargarh, District Allahabad (now Prayagraj), where it was originally registered as Crime No. 43/2002 under Sections 396 and 201 of the Indian Penal Code.
