Bengaluru, July 31 -- The intensifying Cauvery water-sharing dispute spilled over into Karnataka's entertainment sector on Friday, with several theatres across the state suspending screenings of Tamil Nadu's actor-turned-CM Thalapathy Vijay's film Jana Nayagan amid protests by farmers and pro-Kannada organisations opposing the release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu.
Theatres in Bengaluru, Mandya and a few other districts either cancelled scheduled shows or voluntarily withdrew the film as a precaution against possible protests and law and order issues.
