Chennai, May 4 -- Caught in the nascent TVK Founder and actor-politician Vijay's political avalanche, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M K Stalin suffered a poll reverse for the first time in his favourite Kolathur Assembly seat in Chennai city, losing by nearly 9,000 votes, even as the TVK breached the Chennai fortress, long considered as DMK's bastion.
Stalin lost to his nearest TVK rival V S Babu--a former DMK MLA and a known face of DMK--by a margin of over 9,000 votes, which has taken the pollsters by surprise, even as his son and Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin is poised to win a second successive term from the Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni seat, having estbalished a big lead after trailing initially.
