Thiruvananthapuram, April 8 -- KPCC President Sunny Joseph on Wednesday demanded stringent action by the Election Commission over an alleged incident of BJP workers distributing money to voters in Palakkad in the presence of NDA candidate and BJP leader Shobha Surendran.

Joseph said that a prima facie case can be registered based on the visuals that have emerged. Alleging that the BJP is attempting to replicate its "cash-for-votes" culture in Kerala, he called for a thorough probe into the source of the funds.

Joseph further alleged that the BJP is trying to undermine democracy by influencing voters with money. He also claimed that those who questioned and recorded the alleged distribution were threatened by the NDA candidate.
