Ohio (US), Aug. 5 -- Carlos Alcaraz will have to wait to return to the tennis court after withdrawing from the Cincinnati Open 2026.
The seven-time Grand Slam singles champion will not be able to defend his ATP Masters 1000 title, as tournament organisers announced his withdrawal on Tuesday, a week before the maindraw begins.
Alcaraz has not played since April's Barcelona Open due to a wrist injury, subsequently missing Roland-Garros and Wimbledon. The target is to be fully fit for the US Open, the final major ofthe season where the 23-year-old is the defending champion.
