Kozhikode, Sept. 21 -- Calicut FC defender Rijon Jose, 29, was killed in a road accident near the Malabar Christian College here late Sunday night, while his teammate and Kerala Santosh Trophy player Gani Ahmed Nigam suffered serious injuries.
The accident occurred around 10 pm near the flyover close to Malabar Christian College when the Kawasaki motorcycle carrying Rijon and Gani collided with another motorcycle. The impact threw the riders onto the road.
Rijon and Gani were rushed to hospital immediately. Rijon, a native of Thrissur, succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of Monday despite treatment. Gani, who suffered serious injuries, was initially taken to a private hospital and later shifted to the Kozhikode Medical College Ho...
