Kolkata, Aug. 20 -- The Calcutta High Court rejected a protection plea filed by Birbhum stone trader Tulu Mondal, refusing to interfere with the police investigation into the recovery of a huge amount of cash and gold from a relative's house.

A bench of Justice Sougat Bhattacharya, while dismissing Mondal's plea seeking protection from arrest on Thursday, said the investigation should be allowed to continue and that the court should not interfere with the investigating agency at this stage.

Referring to a Supreme Court judgment, Justice Bhattacharya observed, "Tulu Mondal is Indrajit. Like in the Ramayana, he is watching everything from behind the clouds."The court was hearing the plea filed by Mondal after police recovered Rs 28.5 crore ...
