Kolkata, May 26 -- Calcutta High Court on Tuesday withdrew all the interim protections including the May 18 legal shield granted to Trinamool Congress Falta strongman Jahangir Khan, said to be loyal to the party National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee.

The court ruling cleared the ground for police to initiate action against Khan.

The court's ruling came a day before his scheduled production in the court on Wednesday.

The Bench of Justice Parthasarathi Sen of Calcutta High Court, which heard the matter on legal protection granted by the court, ruled that the May 18 interim protection was from any form of coercive action by police till the completion of the poll process. It was granted keeping in mind the May 21 repoll at Falta.
