Kolkata, July 16 -- The Calcutta High Court today sought affidavits from the West Bengal government,
Centre and the Delhi government over the alleged arrest and deportation of a Bengali migrant family
from Birbhum district, in a habeas corpus plea filed by the victim's relatives, court sources said.
A double bench of Justices Tapabrata Chakraborty and Reetobroto Kumar Mitra also directed the Centre to place before it all records regarding litigations before the Delhi HC over the deportation of a few persons found to be illegally residing there.
The judges also asked the Centre to explain the allegation regarding the Bengali-speaking people being targeted in the process to identify the Bangladeshi infiltrators.
