Cairo, July 30 -- Negotiations between Hamas and international mediators in Cairo are making progress on a proposed roadmap for the group's disarmament, a diplomatic official told The Times of Israel.
According to the official, discussions are advancing a phased plan that would see all weapons decommissioned and authority gradually transferred to a Palestinian technocratic government.
"We continue to advance the implementation of the roadmap that offers a balanced and pragmatic path forward, with all weapons decommissioned and a phased transition of responsibilities taking place to hand over full authority to the technocratic government," the official said.
