Aizawl, Aug. 29 -- The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) report, tabled in the just-concluded monsoon session of the Mizoram Assembly, highlighted serious shortcomings in the state's handling of solid waste, disaster preparedness, welfare schemes for construction workers and the implementation of urban local governance.

The Audit Report on Social, Economic, Revenue Sectors and Local Government for the year ending March 31, 2023 was submitted to the state government on May 30 and laid before the Assembly on August 27.

The report covers the period from 2017 to 2022 and includes four performance audits along with 10 compliance audit paragraphs.
