Bengaluru, Sept. 8 -- The Karnataka Cabinet will take the final call on eligibility norms for beneficiaries of the State's guarantee schemes, including whether possession of a voter ID should become a criterion, Energy Minister KJ George said on Tuesday.
Responding to questions on the government's reported move to ensure that guarantee benefits reach eligible Karnataka residents, George said Chief Minister DK Shivakumar had already expressed his view on the matter, but stressed that no individual minister could take a decision on the issue.
"The Chief Minister has expressed his opinion, but the decision has to be taken by the Cabinet," he said.
George said he would abide by whatever decision was taken collectively by the Cabinet.
