Bengaluru/New Delhi, June 2 -- Forty Congress legislators competing for barely ten available cabinet berths have turned New Delhi into the nerve centre of Karnataka politics, triggering intense lobbying and high-level consultations ahead of Chief Minister-designate D K Shivakumar's swearing-in on Wednesday.

With the Congress high command yet to finalise the composition of the first ministry, more than 40 MLAs have converged on the national capital to press their claims for inclusion in the new government.
