Chandigarh, May 7 -- Punjab Cabinet Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal on Thursday conducted a comprehensive review of the ongoing re-lining project of the Rajasthan Feeder Canal, emphasizing that the initiative is critical for preventing breaches and protecting the lives and property of those residing in adjoining areas.
During his visit, the Minister issued strict directives to department officials to ensure the project is completed within the stipulated timeframe.
He noted that the canal's infrastructure is nearly sixty years old, and its significantly deteriorated lining has historically led to frequent breaches in the common bank shared with the Sirhind Feeder Canal, posing a constant threat to residents.
