New Delhi, July 31 -- The union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Friday approved a revamped Khelo India Scheme along with enhanced financial assistance for National Sports Federations (NSFs), allocating a combined outlay of Rs 36,441 crore for the period 2026-27 to 2030-31.
The new package marks the country's biggest investment in sports since Independence, with the allocation nearly eight times higher than the previous Khelo India programme.
