Bengaluru, June 28 -- A cab driver has recounted the terrifying moments leading up to a deadly explosion on a national highway in Karnataka's Tumakuru district, saying the vehicle burst into flames seconds after a woman escaped from it following an alleged knife attack by her abductor.
The explosion on National Highway-48 claimed the life of Nagendra (30), a native of Ankola living in Bengaluru, while the woman, Ramya, an operation theatre technician at Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, and cab driver Praveen survived. Both are undergoing treatment at the Tumakuru District Hospital.
According to police, Nagendra and Ramya, who were reportedly in a relationship but had recently fallen out, were travelling in the cab from Bengaluru to Ankola on Frida...
