Tridib BaparnashNew Delhi, Aug. 17 -- Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu began her quest for a historic sixth BWF World Championships medal on a strong note, beating Ireland's Sophia Noble in straight games to advance to the women's singles second round.
The ninth-seeded Sindhu, a five-time World Championships medallist, made light work of Noble, winning 21-7, 21-11 in 29 minutes.
Sindhu has won two bronze medals, two silver medals and a gold at the World Championships, with her title coming in 2019. A place in the semi-finals at the ongoing tournament would guarantee her at least a bronze medal and make her the first player in World Championships history to win six medals.
