Nagpur, Sept. 20 -- Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday hailed the rapid industrial growth of Nagpur's Additional Butibori MIDC, describing it as a key example of Maharashtra's evolving industrial ecosystem.
Speaking after visiting Avaada's solar module manufacturing facility in Additional Butibori MIDC, Fadnavis said the plant is the country's largest solar module production unit and one of the most advanced automated facilities in the sector.
He said the project, whose foundation stone was laid in 2024, currently employs around 4,000 people and is playing a significant role in strengthening India's position in the solar energy sector. The facility's production capacity is expected to expand to 7 GW, he noted.
