Hyderabad, Oct. 24 -- The Telangana government on Friday announced an ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh to the next of kin of each deceased in the Kurnool bus fire tragedy in Andhra Pradesh that claimed lives of at least 20 passengers. The government also announced Rs 2 lakh each for the injured passengers.

A Hyderabad-Bengaluru private sleeper bus caught fire following a collision with a two-wheeler in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh in the early hours of Friday in which 20 persons were charred, including 19 passengers and a motorist. As many as 19 bodies have been recovered.
