Shimla, Sept. 13 -- Himachal Pradesh has achieved a major milestone with the upcoming Bulk Drug Park at Una receiving Environmental Clearance (EC) from the union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC).
The clearance clears the decks for one of India's most significant infrastructure projects in the pharmaceutical sector, aimed at reducing dependency on imported Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and Key Starting Materials (KSMs).
The scheme for promoting bulk drug parks was launched by the union Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers in March 2020, with detailed guidelines notified by the Department of Pharmaceuticals in July 2020.
