Lucknow, July 13 -- The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) suffered a setback in Uttar Pradesh on Monday when Jaivind, a former MLA from Bhagwant Nagar constituency in Unnao district, joined the Congress along with hundreds of supporters.
State Congress President Ajay Rai inducted Jaivind into the party at a function held at the state Congress headquarters, Nehru Bhawan.
Several senior leaders, including Sitapur MP Rakesh Rathore and Congress's state joining in-charge, Nitin Sharma, were present on the occasion. Jaivind is the son of the late Nathu Singh, a former MLA and former Minister of State.
