Muzaffarnagar, April 7 -- A case has been registered against a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader and his son for allegedly demanding extortion of Rs 50 lakh from a local businessman in the city.
Vipin Kumar, director of RKD Farm and National President of the National Jat Protection Committee, has accused BSP district treasurer Sushil Sharma of demanding money and issuing threats.
Acting on the complaint, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) ordered the registration of a case against Sharma and his son, following which police have begun an investigation.
According to the complaint, Vipin Kumar, a resident of Jat Colony under Civil Lines police station, currently resides at his farmhouse near Gaushala Road in the Kotwali area.
