Lucknow, April 27 -- The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has kicked off its election preparations in Uttar Pradesh by beginning the process of candidate selection. Taking an early lead over rivals like the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Samajwadi Party (SP), the party has announced its candidate for a key Assembly constituency.

Zulfekar Ahmad Gama has been declared the official BSP candidate from the Shahganj Assembly seat in Jaunpur. The announcement was made during a grand event held in Jaunpur, where Dinesh Chandra, zonal in-charge for Prayagraj, Varanasi, and Ayodhya divisions, formally introduced Gama as the party's nominee on Sunday.
