Hyderabad, April 17 -- Leaders of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi Vidyarthi (BRSV) wing staged a protest by laying a siege to the BJP office in Nampally, here on Friday, condemning remarks made by the saffron party MP Tejasvi Surya on the formation of Telangana.

The protesters demanded an immediate apology from Surya to the people of Telangana, alleging that his comments have hurt public sentiment.

During the protest, an argument broke out between BRSV activists and members of the BJYM, leading to tense moments at the BJP office premises.

Police intervened to bring the situation under control. Several BRSV leaders were detained and shifted to a nearby police station to prevent further escalation.
